Positive Indigenous Parenting
When domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or sex trafficking occur, parenting is frequently impacted. Whether parenting issues persist as a result of abusive relationships or as a result of generational trauma, we must assist our victims/survivors in developing new skills that will increase the success of our indigenous youth. What does positive parenting look like for indigenous parents? This webinar will discuss small changes that can be made in our homes, schools, and communities that will have a long-term positive effect on children and adolescents living on reservations. Many of our parents struggle with discipline, boundary setting, and how to support traumatized children. This webinar is about moving away from blaming our own parents and connecting with our forefathers and mothers in order to make things right for the next generation.
